Crank Letters
A friend in DC says she's become adept at writing crank letters in her old age. When asked what she meant, she described a recent letter written to an architectural firm about the cement bench they dedicated in a nearby park. The bench was beautifully crafted, and reflected nicely on the firm itself, but it had the unfortunate outcome of being so low to the ground that it prevents old people from getting up!! She implored them, innocently enough, "What were you THINKING?!!" Listening to her story, the goup of us, well-past 70, all agreed there was nothing cranky about such a letter. In fact, it reminded me of this blog, which I promptly shared. And now I think, maybe it's time for this blog to resurface. Why? I've reached an age we once considered old, and find it's like traveling through a new land. There's so much new to discover, and so much old to be shorn. Maybe it's time for a few more crank letters, for Crocks Are US!
