Father Phil has an idea he'd like to share with us: It's about time American merchandisers woke up to the fact that it is the OLD that are now the economically-under-served. And it is the OLDSTERS whose needs are being un-met! The boomers have been taken care (they have plenty of TOYS), and the babies are blessed - but what about the over-70's? the awesome 80-somethings? the near-90's, the centenarians, and such? They need some attention!! Well, Phil has a suggestion: America needs a new store, one that caters to HIS needs, and those of his assisted-living cronies. His suggestion? CROCKS R US!!
So, here begins a new stage in this 97-year-old's life. Don't be surprised if this idea takes off, and his voice is heard. Don't be surprised if this WWII veteran's survival skills are still strong. And don't be surprised if this educator has something still to teach us. SO - GET READY for this You-Tubing, cafe-hopping, post-pubescent professor to sidle into your life. He may feel like a crock, a worn-out, decrepit, or impaired old man, but I'm betting he's more like the shards of antiquity - an interpreter of history, and a container of culture. It may indeed be the crocks amongst us that will make our grass grow green. Wake Up, America - Crocks R US!!
